Too Much Technology

As I sit here in front of my computer, absolutely MAD at Blogger....how can I have anything positive to say about having technology?

How about, let's take life slow. Recently, I have been reading the 2BlogGadgets blog for Geeks. At first, I was fascinated by the different types of gadgets out there, such as the tools that help you to type with your mind, get drunk without booze, solar powered retinal implants. I mean, how cool would it be to type what you are thinking!!

Then, I started to think about this article - "Around the World in 2 1/2 Hours".

Okay.....why would anyone want to see the world in 2 1/2 hours? Sure it's fast and a little bit cool, but what happened to travelling the world to see incredible sceneries and meet different people. This can never be a substitution for the experience of travelling around the world.

Technology helps us to save time, but it takes away a lot of learning opportunities. Instead of typing with your mind, why not write in journals so that you can practice your spelling. We are becoming very dependent on spelling and grammar checks. Someone just asked me to spell "Contest" the other day!
